The redistricting case is likely to head to the state’s highest court in the next week.
Hochul stressed that the search for a new lieutenant is still “very early in the process.”
She mainly avoided a host of issues that would prove more divisive and instead looked to rebuild the relationship with the Legislature that was torn between former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and lawmakers.
“This was an abject failure,” said commissioner Ross Brady, who is allied with the Republican members.
“It’s almost as though she’s taking a Rose Garden strategy,” said consultant Bill O’Reilly.
